| | Evaluating Windows Vista a few weeks ago, I really liked the change. The whole interface is really nice and I love the what I hear about the aero glass (my system doesn't support it). Included virus protection would be nice, considering the tumultuous security already going into it. Guess you got to pay a few extra bucks for extended security. I haven't got a virus on my computer for over a year. I use to have AVG Free and it did the job nicely. Now I'm back to Norton, since I reset my computer and I came pre-installed with it. That's the other bad thing about Windows' OEMs...they always include a whole bunch of software that they expect you to need sometime. I mean HP Image Zone is great if I had an HP brand camera, but I don't. Despite all this, I'm really think Vista is promising. At least I hope it is.
The other talk of the techies online (and me briefly), is Mac OS X Leopard 10.5, a great new OS also coming out—except sooner that Vista. It's all the rage by current Mac users and soon-to-be Mac users waiting for its release. I want a Mac because of its simplicity and no-virus policy Apple brags about. I've been a Windows person all my life, but then again...I've got a virus once? Twice? In 1997? It didn't even do any damage before McAfee found it, so I'm not sure if that still counts to the greatest degree.
Mac's come with iLife, which I consider the coolest bundle they could offer. If I get a Mac, I'd also have to get Shapeshifter, as I could only go so long with the same UI (I have WindowBlinds for XP right now). The only downside to getting a Mac is the mixed reviews of the Macbook. Too hot? Too dirty too fast? I'll wait until the complaints stop before I get a laptop from them, however it is better than the Dell laptops exploding... 11:37 PM
